Last week we completed our Reader's Theater unit. The students read stories aloud that mocked famous fairy tales. Everyone did a great job and we had lots of fun listening to stories like Little Late Riding Hood, Spiderella, and the Three Little Elephants. This past week, Tiffany D. completed her Science Fair project. She was the only Funky Monkey to take on this challenge. Tiffany's experiment revolved around the dent resistance of wood. She tested many kinds of wood and in the end, found that Red Oak is the most dent resistant. Great work, Tiffany! At the end of our Survival of the Maya unit in Social Studies, the students used the 'Drawing' feature within their Google Drive accounts to create some really neat collages. Prior to the tech project, all students completed quite a bit of research that focused on the Maya that are still living in Latin America. They examined how some have adapted to a more modern lifestyle, while others have stuck to their traditional roots. Below is a slideshow that displays some student work. |
