Mr. Foster's (and now Mrs. Schwartzenberger's) Look-Alike Contests
Each year, the Funky Monkeys and/or Team Foster-Berger compete in the Mr. Foster Look-Alike Contest. This tradition started back during the 2008-09 school year on picture day. In fact, the first ever winner of the Mr. Foster Look-Alike Contest was a female, Emma T. During the 2011-12 school year, history was established once again when a teacher, Mr. Letcher, and a para-professional, Mr. Jurasek, competed. Even though they had the wardrobe, they couldn't top the 12-year-old winner, Cedric L.
Just when you thought 2012 couldn't be beat, Brendan F. stole the show by wearing a very similar outfit to Mr. Foster. And, to really top things off, he created a virtually identical name tag! We all decided that a vote didn't even need to happen, Brendan had won before the contest had even begun.
But wait! 2014 brought out another created name tag and also a Mr. Foster mask! Nick P. created a pretty cool name tag, and Jake W. made the first ever Mr. Foster mask. The two shared the title of "winner" of the Mr. Foster Look-Alike Contest.
In 2015, some students pulled out some more surprises. Caitlyn F. created a authentic looking name tag that was printed on a label, Ian H. created "Ian Stickers" to mimic Foster Stickers, and Kellan M. wore a tie that had money all over it. In the end, Pranav K. won the competition.
2016 brought some tough competition, but Jack T. reigned supreme. Sporting the traditional Mr. Foster black pants and blue shirt/tie, he won the 2016 contest. Also, Josie S. dressed up as Mrs. Schwartzenberger! It's all about the glasses! For 2017, we'll be holding both Mr. Foster and Mrs. Schwartzenberger Look-Alike Contests!
The Fall of 2016 brought another JA Trip, and we had some interesting competitors. Alex P. entered in both the Mr. Foster and Mrs. Schwartzenberger Look-Alike Contest! Owen H. won on the Mr. Foster side of things, while Emily M. won the Mrs. Schwartzenberger contest.
In 2017, after a pretty close vote, Reed M. won the Mr. Foster Look-Alike Contest. Tons of girls brought out their glasses for the Mrs. Schwartzenberger side, and Emma A. ended up victorious.
In 2019, Keegan C. won the Mr. Foster Look-Alike Contest with a perfectly matching tie. Hunter E. was a close runner-up with a CMU hat, Saline Stingerz undershirt, and an official name tag! On the girls side, Izzy D. won the Mrs. Schwartzenberger Look-Alike Contest with the trademark glasses on the head look.
In early years, students would come to school in a shirt and tie for picture day. Now, with picture day being before the school year, students come dressed for success for our Junior Achievement Finance Park trip.
