Our budgeting simulation came to an end with a trip down to the JA headquarters. The students spent several weeks learning about planning an adult's budget, and more! Here's a slideshow from the day down in Detroit. Also, click here for the outcome of the Mr. Foster and Mrs. Schwartzenberger Look-Alike Contest!
ENTRY EVENT
FaceTime with CNN's Katia Hetter about National Parks. Teams were then announced and they randomly chose a National Park.
TEAM MEETINGS AND RESEARCH
Teams met on several occasions to plot the course of research. They used Google Spreadsheets to collaborate and take notes from many online resources.
RESEARCH IS COMPLETE
VIDEO PRODUCTION BEGINS Teams are now taking their research and merging that into a video that promotes their national park and also answers the Driving Question. The Driving Question is: Why should your national park be considered as a travel destination and be preserved for future generations? Students used the Collaboration Stations in the Media Center to work together and preview their videos.
VIDEOS ARE PUBLISHED TO THE WEB
VOTING BEGINS The students published their videos and online and teaching voting/assessment took place. Students used their devices to watch all of the videos and then to vote. |
